My name is Emma and I am a self taught naturalist, having loved nature and wildlife from a young age.

I'm not your average birdwatcher; I don't keep lists, dislike getting up early and most definatly don't have a beard. I will admit to being a geek. I love to combine wildlife watching with a cup of tea and a slice of cake. I have been a member of the RSPB for about 20 years (eek!).  I work part time in a Bead Shop.  I also make and sell my own jewellery and photographs at www.emmaruthjones.com.
 
This blog came about because I was frustrated at the wildlife guides available and felt they were too dry, not all that practical, confusing for amateurs and no where near as comprehensive as they could be. So, I decided to write my own.
